Bilbao (Spain) became the epicentre in the fusion between art and technology. Technarte 2017 brought together the most important professionals creating in the fusion between art and technology. 14 international artists and technologists showed their artworks and innovative projects in which technology is the main protagonist in the creative and production processes.
On 11th and 12th of May in the Bizkaia Aretoa Building, some of the most popular artistic disciplines that are transforming the world of art became be the protagonists of this edition of the International Conference on Art and Technology in Bilbao. Big Data Art, Interactive Architecture and Sculpture, Fashion Technology and Wearables, Bio Art or Robotic Art among others were some of the highlighted disciplines in the two conference days in which international artists and professionals of artistic, cultural and technological worlds met again to spread the importance in the fusion between art, science and technology.
Technarte brought to Bilbao some artists like Borja de la Maza, Anouk Wipprecht, Maria Yablonina, Robert Lisek, Birgitte Aga, Déborah Lopez, Stephen Cartwright o Eyal Gever among others, the author of the first 3D printed artwork in the International Space Station in Zero-gravity conditions.
This Technarte edition ended with the launch of a new artistic scholarship focused on 3D Scanning. An unbeatable opportunity for artists from all over the world to develop new projects.
