DataSpace 4.0 is a sectoral alliance to unify national Industry 4.0 initiatives, European data space think tanks, innovation networks and data model standardization initiatives, with the aim of creating a common governance framework under which to share industrial data at an European level. This common framework leverages recently adopted data directives and regulations to unlock new business models and valuable data chains across industrial products, factories, and supply chains.
THE ROLE OF THE INNOVALIA ASSOCIATION
As project coordinator, Innovalia carries out the necessary activities for the management of the consortium, ensuring an efficient use of the resources and reporting directly to the European Commission. It is also Innovalia’s responsibility to lead the efforts to create a governance body for the pan-European industrial data spaces. This involves the design of replicable methodologies, the definition of application scenarios and the concurrence of key stakeholders.
